Therefore, if the plane is about to take off and the airline can fill a few more seats, even if they have to cut the prices a little to fill those seats, then everyone is happy. The airlines want to fill those seats and will do it any way they can. If they have to lower the prices, then so be it. In their eyes, more seats equals more revenue and they’d rather have you in one of those seats than to see it remain empty.
